Newsletter October 2010

Previous Meeting

AGM: The minutes were circulated to members via email and by post.
Our new Chairperson, Joyce, was a Founder Member of the French Circle.

After the AGM, Roger Beastall, Annette Chellingsworth and Janice Cooper told us of their experiences at the Maҫon Summer School. It proved to be a packed and varied visit, with classes, trips, lots of fun and just a little wine tasting! Their presentation with slides inspired some of us to enrol for next year.

Merci, Annette, Janice et Roger.

Newsletter July 2010

Previous Meeting
Desert Island Discs - After some debate on the size of our desert island – the consensus was that it had a single cartoon palm tree - our group of nine gave some original choices of discs and books to keep us company there. Though there were many worthy ideas of classical music, and even a rendering of a couple of old songs by Philip, the Beatles proved to be the most popular choice. Probably the most original luxury item was a chef! The evening closed after a lively, informal discussion and reminiscences.
Janice reminded us that a new Chairperson and Secretary have to be nominated.
